Haslam Hosts First EMBA Reunion

10448192_10152391633716836_6328892832734715009_nThe Haslam College of Business hosted its first official class reunion for the executive MBA programs on Nov. 15.

In the spirit of lifelong learning, the weekend began with several speakers on the afternoon of Friday, Nov. 14. A reception at Cheseapeake’s seafood restaurant in Knoxville followed. Before the Vols football game with Kentucky on Nov. 15, the college hosted a tailgate on the Haslam building’s terrace, complete with cash bar and a bluegrass band.

Speakers on Friday included Haslam faculty member Kelly Hewitt with Bank of America, who spoke about the importance of personal branding in today’s society and how to achieve it. Drew Everett of Bush Brothers and Company lead an informal discussion with the group regarding company culture, specifically the emphasis Bush Brothers places on creating and retaining culture and its effects on the company. David Keith spoke about his roots at UT and explained the nature and philosophy of his philanthropic endeavors.

There were 10 alumni in attendance, including representatives from Radio Systems, Corp., Kimble-Chase LLC, ABT Molecular Imaging, Premier HR Management Solutions and Calsonic Kansei North America. The college hopes to continue this tradition and that it will grow in the coming years.
