UT Federal Credit Union is partnering with the University of Tennessee Knoxville’s Anderson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the College of Business Administration to offer students, faculty, and the community a chance to learn what it takes to start a business through weekly, one-hour seminars called “Vol Court.”
The seminars provided information over a semester about developing new business ideas and creating a forum for people with different skill sets to connect and potentially form new businesses.
“We are happy to be involved in this wonderful opportunity to help students and the community learn what it takes to launch a start-up business,” states Malinda Wood, VP of marketing for UTFCU. “There are many potential pitfalls, and opportunities for assistance that the general public simply doesn’t know about.”
UTFCU’s involvement not only included monetary sponsorship, but Jonathan Patrick, SVP of lending, also served as a judge and speaker at a recent session.
